(Watch that online here >>>)  Most business owners simply don’t think it can’t help grow their business in any meaningful way. If they do get it, most are concentrating on Linked In instead of Twitter (and the massively popular Facebook), thinking that Linked In is more businesslike. At a recent Chamber Chat, our very own Social Media Manager, Nicola Cairncross shared how, to be successful in business nowadays, you have to go where your customers are!  She also gave us a handout of her own simple Social Media strategy (the same one that she is implementing for the Chamber right now).  Just click the picture to the left and view a bigger version. She also told us how Twitter can be the glue that holds all your online marketing activities together and do most of the “heavy lifting” of your Social Media for you. Here’s three jolly good reasons why you need to pay attention to Twitter. 1. For many websites Twitter and Facebook are the 2nd and 3rd biggest sources of traffic after Google Organic Search. 2. At the recent Apple Inc. Word Wide Developer Conference, Steve Jobs announced Twitter will be integrated into most new software applications.  This means many other software companies will start doing the same too.  Apple’s iOS 5, unveiled at WWDC last week, showcases a deep integration of Twitter in many Apple functions, which suggests that Apple anointed the company as its key supplier of social technology infrastructure. What does this mean for social media and for your business?  Essentially, without any need for rebranding or multiple phone versions, the iPhone has become partly the Twitterphone.  The budding partnership could very well shake up the standings in social platforms and do some damage to Google’s attempts to spread its own social technologies, like its +1 button.
